Subject to budgetary regulations at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Professorship for Landscape Ecology and Site Studies, the following position is to be filled for an unlimited period at the University of Rostock as of 01.04.2023:

Scientific Assistant (m/f/d)
EG 14 TV-L, full-time employment, 40 hours/week, permanent

The research of the lab includes questions of biodiversity, plant/site interactions and vegetation science. From basic tools such as taxonomic backbones and infrastructure such as the (inter)national vegetation (meta)database vegetweb.de and givd.info, towards tests of basic ecological questions, we explore the importance of plant communities in and for nature. You can expect access to excellent national and international research networks, close cooperation with interdisciplinary partners at the university and beyond, a creative and methodologically open research atmosphere and flexible working hours to reconcile family and career.

The research questions within the position focus on vegetation, in particular on bioindication and spatial neighbourhood relations including lateral material flows in peatlands. Dimensions of sustainability should be addressed, including environment and climate. Biodiversity and land use, as well as material cycles should be taken into account.
