The University of Rostock offers a diverse, varied and demanding job in a tradition-conscious, yet innovative, modern and family-friendly university in a lively city by the sea.
At the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, Institute of General Electrical Engineering, Chair of Electromagnetic Field Theory, subject to allocation of funds, we are filling the following position as of 01.10.2022 on a temporary basis for the duration of the project "WAKE" ending on 30.09.2025:
The research is carried out within the framework of the project “WAKE - Wakefield and Beam Impedance Studies for Undulator Structures at BESSY II and the EuXFEL,” funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The collaborative project aims to boost the development of novel numerical techniques that can meet the demands of accelerator scientists for wakefield and impedance calculations in the context of light sources of the newest generations. Specifically, modal concatenation techniques for electromagnetically coupled accelerator structures are the focus of this part of the collaborative project. The new computational approaches will enable impedance studies for undulator structures such as BESSY II or the European XFEL (EuXFEL), challenging state-of-the-art methods.
Equal opportunities are important to us. We welcome applications from suitable severely disabled persons or persons of equal status. We aim to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching and therefore encourage relevantly qualified women to apply. We welcome applications from people of other nationalities or with a migration background.
