The school has been established between the institutes of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and LIKAT with the possibility to obtain an interdisciplinary PhD. In their applications, interested candidates shall select three potential PhD projects provided on the RTG website https://www.spectre.uni-rostock.de. Selection of the successful candidates will consist of a two-step process: an initial selection of candidates who will be invited for interviews, followed by a final selection of the ten fellows, working on individual projects, in on-site or video interviews.

THESE ARE YOUR TASKS:

  • interdisciplinary research work in individual projects at the interface of molecular chemistry, catalysis, theory, and spectroscopy with the aim of obtaining an academic qualification (PhD)
  • active participation in RTG-related training and qualification activities
  • publication of research results

THIS MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT:

  • completed university degree (state examination, diploma, master’s, or comparable degree) in chemistry, physics, or mathematics with preferably very good but at least good results
  • good knowledge of organometallic chemistry, catalysis, theory, modelling, or spectroscopy
  • willingness to work seriously and with commitment on a project of one's own scientific qualification
  • willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • confident knowledge of the English language written and spoken
