THESE ARE YOUR TASKS:

  • Conduct research in the field of biomechanics with the aim of obtaining a doctoral degree (PhD)
  • Investigation of the role of bi-articular muscles and feedback mechanisms in leg control and the learning of locomotion through experiments on the coordination of specific movements, utilizing electromyography, marker-based and markerless kinematics, force plates, instrumented treadmills, etc.
  • Deliver research-based, academically oriented teaching amounting two teaching hours per week (tutorials, practical courses) in the field of biomechanics, with the aim of enabling students to conduct independent scientific work
  • Engage actively in teaching
  • Design, prepare, administer, and grade academic examinations and other assessed coursework
  • Assist with academic and organizational tasks (study program administration, committee work)
  • Organize and conduct academic/scientific events
  • Publish research findings

THIS MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT:

  • A completed university degree (State Examination, Diploma, Master’s degree, or equivalent) in a relevant field (physics, engineering, biology and/or sports science, or a comparable discipline), preferably with good results
  • Good command of German or English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to work seriously and with commitment on a project aimed at obtaining your own academic qualification (PhD)
  • The following would be desirable:
    • Experience with experiments
    • Experience in university teaching
