Research Assistant (m/f/d)
EG 13 TV-L, full-time employment, 40 hours/week, limited, project position

Tasks and Responsibilities

• research in the field of "adaptivity of AI methods for analyzing maritime data"
• develope methods and prototypes for maritime data analytics from smart sensors / edge devices upt to cloud services
• assess and enhance continual learning methods for maritime (image) data
• coordinate the project activities in the Maritime Graphics working group at the University of Rostock
• publish the research results
• guide student assistants and supervision of student work within the project

Requirements

• completed university studies (diploma, master's degree or comparable degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines with at least good results
• practical and theoretical knowledge of machine learning methods including the relevant frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow)
• experience in using different architectural concepts from embedded systems to edge computing to cloud computing
• proven knowledge and experience in the development of complex software systems
• good knowledge of german and english language
• very good, structured and timely working style, communication skills for the presentation of research results, teamwork skills for working in interdisciplinary working groups

• Employment relationship in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the Federal States (TV-L) with the employer Land Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, represented by the University of Rostock
