At the Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering, Institute of Visual and Analytic Computing, Chair of Maritime Graphics, we are filling the following position, subject to allocation of funds, for the next possible date for a limited period for the project "Smart Maritime Sensor Data Space X (MARISPACE-X)“ until 31.12.2024:
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
EG 13 TV-L, full-time employment, 40 hours/week, limited, project position
Tasks and Responsibilities
- research in the field of "adaptivity of AI methods for analyzing maritime data"
- develope methods and prototypes for maritime data analytics from smart sensors / edge devices upt to cloud services
- assess and enhance continual learning methods for maritime (image) data
- coordinate the project activities in the Maritime Graphics working group at the University of Rostock
- publish the research results
- guide student assistants and supervision of student work within the project
Requirements
- completed university studies (diploma, master's degree or comparable degree) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines with at least good results
- practical and theoretical knowledge of machine learning methods including the relevant frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow)
- experience in using different architectural concepts from embedded systems to edge computing to cloud computing
- proven knowledge and experience in the development of complex software systems
- good knowledge of german and english language
- very good, structured and timely working style, communication skills for the presentation of research results, teamwork skills for working in interdisciplinary working groups
