THESE ARE YOUR TASKS:

  • research in the field of image-based modelling of angiogenesis and tissue remodelling for electrically active implants with the aim of scientific qualification (doctorate)
  • develop and implement coupled agent-based and finite element models for angiogenesis subject to electrostimulation
  • model chondrocyte migration and differentiation
  • model bone healing
  • implement surrogate models
  • micro computed tomography imaging of implants and their tissue interface
  • collaborate with project partners
  • present your research at scientific conferences and publish them in peer-reviewed journals

THIS MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT:

  • completed university degree (diploma, master's degree or comparable degree) in mathematics, physics, engineering, materials science or a comparable field with at least good results
  • experience in mathematical modelling and simulation
  • experience in working with Python or C/C++
  • prior knowledge in implants and their interaction with the body is desirable
  • proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken, is required
  • knowledge of the German language or the willingness to learn it in a short time
  • willingness to work seriously and with commitment on a project of one's own scientific qualification
  • strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and good communication skills
